In the Quedlinburg Castle Museum, the marquetry floors were being restored. The video shows the working method of how a rosette of a baroque state floor is consolidated using Steno-injection.
First, the loose areas are marked with adhesive arrows, with the tip of the arrow pointing precisely to the future hole. A 0.5 mm hole is drilled with a wire drill.
A 30% hide glue is injected using Steno-injection. The excess glue is removed immediately after injection, and a raised area is pressed down with a warm acrylic glass plate and a lead weight.

Warm glue was injected using a 0.3 mm cannula.
 
Both projects were carried out at Akanthus Restaurierungen GmbH in Eberswalde.

Gluing a loosened tenon joint on the front leg of a chair. In this video, a 0.4 mm wire drill is used to drill from the visible side. A 35% hide glue is injected through three holes on each side. It is advantageous to let enough glue flow through the joint so that the glue distributes as well as possible, activates the old glue, and warms the joint. At the end, the injection holes are shown without retouching.

The injection speed is controlled by the foot pedal. The glue can be injected drop by drop, up to a rapid jet. In the video on the right, a 30% hide glue is experimentally injected under an acrylic glass plate into a tapering joint. A 0.5 mm cannula is mounted in the injection head. The left field shows a slow injection. In contrast, the right field shows an injection at full speed. Thanks to its additional kinetic energy, the glue penetrates rapidly to the end of the joint. However, air bubbles become trapped in the glue mass.

Although Steno-injection is usually carried out with blunt cannulas, this video shows an injection with a sharp cannula. With this 0.4 mm cannula, a 0.6–0.7 mm thick oak veneer is pierced in the pore area. The severely degraded glue joint inside the gap partially dissolves during injection, allowing the glue to spread evenly. Looking closely at the video, you can see how the glue creeps under the veneer by observing the curvature of the veneer. The weakly bonded areas are thus re-glued without any loss of veneer substance.
